Biography

Munkhbayar Tsedevsuren is the Director of the “Eternal Mongolia” Project Finance for Permanence (PFP) project. He initially joined TNC Mongolia in August 2021 as a PFP project coordinator.

Prior to his tenure at TNC Mongolia, he amassed valuable experience as an independent consultant for the Ministry of Economy and Development and the Ministry of Finance over two years. Additionally, he served as a senior economic counselor to the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs of the State Great Khural (Parliament). His diverse professional background includes serving as an Economic Advisor to the Speaker of Parliament and holding various positions at the Bank of Mongolia (Central Bank), such as senior economist, division chief, director general of the department, and advisor to the Governor. Before his association with the Central Bank, Munkhbayar contributed to the Ministry of Finance as a specialist overseeing public debt management.

Since 2018, Munkhbayar has held the position of an independent member of the Monetary Policy Committee, actively contributing to shaping and implementing monetary policies.

Munkhbayar Tsedevsuren has a solid academic foundation, holding an MSc in Finance from the Australian National University, Canberra (2015), a Master of Public Policy from the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies, Tokyo (2006), and a BA in Economics from the National University of Mongolia (2001).
