Biography

Galbadrakh Davaa is the Country Director at TNC Mongolia. Before joining TNC, he contributed significantly to various conservation initiatives in Mongolia. His work included the establishment of Mongolia’s new protected areas network, the development and implementation of community-based approaches to protected areas management, the enhancement of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) policies and practices, environmental education, and the promotion of eco-tourism.

Additionally, Galbadrakh played a key role in the development of more than 20 environmental laws and legislation. He held leadership positions in the Mongolia Biodiversity Project and Eastern Steppe Biodiversity Project at the UNDP/Global Environmental Facility (GEF) and Buffer Zone Development Project at the German Technical Cooperation Agency.

Galbadrakh Davaa holds a Master of Environmental Management degree from Yale University and a Master of Science degree from Central European University/Manchester University.
