Baljnyam Batjargal has been serving as a Natural Resource Management Specialist in the Community-led Conservation project at The Nature Conservancy, Mongolia since 2020. She is responsible for providing methodological support for developing community-based natural resource management plans, empowering volunteer rangers, planning conservation activities using appropriate methods for natural resources, and devising strategies to enhance the participation of the local community in the protected areas.
Baljnyam started her career as a ranger in the protected area of Khan Khentii. She subsequently held roles as an expert overseeing natural resource management in the Amar River Program Department of WWF Mongolia and worked as a research contractor in the Entomological Laboratory of the Institute of Biology of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences. She is recognized as a co-author of the book “Beetles of Mongolia II - Darkling Beetles” and is an active member of the Network of Trainers in Conservation Planning.
In 2013, she holds a bachelor’s degree in conservation and management of ecology from the University of Humanities. Baljnyam defended her master’s thesis on the topic of “Darkling Beetle of Alashaa” at the Buriad State University in Russia.
